What is LPI 360?
Leadership Practices Inventory
Anyone interested in becoming a more effective leader and learning to apply Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner’s acclaimed Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership® model to real-life challenges and opportunities will benefit from the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI). This comprehensive suite of LPI tools includes leadership assessment instruments for both working adults and students with little or no work experience. Typically administered by professionals within training, organization development, talent management, or leadership development and independent management consultants and coaches, the LPI 360 and LPI Individual are designed for both new and seasoned leaders. Supporting the authors’ core philosophy that “Leadership is Everyone’s Business,” LPI Online underscores the belief that anyone can learn to be an effective leader if they are given the right feedback and tools. LPI 360, a comprehensive leadership development tool created by James M. Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner as part of The Leadership Challenge suite of programs, products, and services proven to cultivate and liberate the leadership potential in every person, at every level in any organization. This premier 360-degree leadership development tool includes:
The LPI Self (completed by the Leader) and the LPI Observer (completed by others chosen by the Leader).
LPI SELF: a 30-item assessment instrument that provides a way for individual Leaders to measure the frequency of their own specific leadership behaviors on a 10-point frequency scale.
LPI OBSERVER: a 30-item assessment instrument that provides 360-degree feedback on the frequency of specific leadership behaviors on a 10-point frequency scale, completed by 7-10 people selected by the Leader to participate in the process.
While the LPI Self provides for self-measurement, the LPI Observer collects valuable 360-degree feedback from bosses, co-workers, direct reports, and others who have direct experience of the individual Leader in a leadership role.
